Oki Yasunobu Vintage Kokeshi Doll (16cm/6.3 inches)

This lovely kokeshi doll was made by the talented, award winning Oki Yasunobu (1955~) who was born in Fukutsu city, Fukuoka prefecture. In 2014 and 2025 He won the prestigious Prime Minister Award in the Gunma Prefecture Modern Kokeshi Contest.

This cute doll is spreading both of her arms to reveal her cute kimono’s floral pattern. Her red obi (kimono belt) is tied on the back and her hair is elegantly carved. Yasunobu san used a yaki-pen to gently burn the front of her hair, giving it a more realistic look.

In very good condition with marks of age and use.
