Vintage creative kokeshi doll by master Miyashita Hajime (1940-). Her title is らんまん (Ranman) Which means “In Full Bloom”. Made of beautiful keyaki (zelkova) wood her warm wood-toned kimono is decorated with blossoming cherry flowers and a kanoko dotted pattern.
Miyashita Hajime is a multiple award winner master who was born in 1940. The current Japanese emperor and empress are fans of him and used to collect his dolls. In 2006 he retired after his kokeshi shop burnt down in a fire.
