Miyashita Hajime Red Vintage Kokeshi Doll (20cm/7.8inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll by master Miyashita Hajime (1940-). She’s wearing a red kimono decorated with big red flowers with black leaves and a dark red obi hanging loose.

Miyashita Hajime is a multiple award winner master who was born in 1940. The current Japanese emperor and empress are fans of him and used to collect his dolls. In 2006 he retired after his kokeshi shop burnt down in a fire.

In great condition with signs of age and use. Unsigned.
