Kazuo Takamizawa Vintage Kokeshi Doll – Spring Wind (21.5cm/8.4 inches)

This lovely vintage kokeshi was made & signed by master Kazuo Takamizawa (1927~). Her title is 春風 (Harukaze) which means “Spring Wind” referring to the gentle, pleasant breeze that blows in spring. Her kimono has beautiful white camellia flowers over natural wood color.

Kazuo Takamizawa was born in 1927 and started making kokeshi doll in his early 20’s. At the beginning he used very little color and starting from the 70’s he began giving his creations more color. He has won the prestigious prime minister award along other prizes for his works.

In great condition with minor marks of age and use. Comes in the original box.
