This exclusive and unique kokeshi doll was made by the extremely talented Chiyomatsu Kano who was born in 1935 in Gunma prefecture.
She’s titled 敬慕 (Keibo) which means “Admiration.” It refers to a feeling of deep respect and admiration towards someone, often because of their qualities, achievements, or character.
Made of beautiful keyaki wood with Chiyomatsu’s beautiful floral pattern decorate her body and creating an elegant flow along the wood pattern.

Kano Chiyomatsu began making kokeshi dolls in 1953, one of the most decorated and prized masters in Japan. He already passed away though the exact year is unknown. He has won the prestigious prime minister award twice and many other awards for his beautiful kokeshi dolls.

In great condition with signs of age and use. Comes in the original box with the original wooden sign (*box not shown in the pictures).

Please note that the two vertical lines in the bottom of her body are part of the design and were made by Kano Chiyomatsu himself.
