This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is 三和 (Miwa) which is a girl’s name. Hair orange kimono is decorated with simple flowers and a square pattern in pink and red. Her kimono collar matches her ribbon and both feature a kanoko pattern in red and white. The face show a very lovely wooden grain and her hair is carved all around in different width which gives it a very realistic look.
Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.
In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
