This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Ichiko Yahagi (1952-). Her title is 香穂 (Kaho) which is a girl’s name. Her obi (kimono belt) has two patterns – a green auspicious asanoha (hemp) pattern and a dotted kanoko pattern in red and yellow. The kimono itself is decorated with a floral pattern and she has a cute red hair-ornament.
Ichiko Yahagi was born in Ishikawa prefecture, Kaga city in 1952. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.
In mint condition. Comes with a black wooden base and the original box.
