Vintage Creative Kokeshi Doll by Yamanaka Sanpei Black & Red (13cm/5.1 inches)

This kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Yamanaka Sanpei (1926-2012) who won over 20 awards for his kokeshi dolls including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. Sanpei’s inspiration for kokeshi doll designs often come from children.

This doll was intentionally made in a way that allows you to move and position the head in any angle you please.

In great condition with signs of age and use. Comes in the original box.
