Kokeshi doll vintage creative by master Takeda Masashi. Her title is 梅ごよみ (Umegoyomi) which can be translated to “The Passing of Plum Blossoms”. She’s made of beautiful keyaki (zelkova) wood while her darker toned kimono is decorated with 8 carved plum flowers.

Master Takeda Masashi was born in Yamagata prefecture in 1930 and won many prizes for his works. His kokeshi dolls has a unique style, with rich dark wood tones and carved flowers. He barely uses any paint to showcase the beauty of the natural texture of the wood used.

In great condition with one small mark on the upper left side of the head and other signs of age and use.
