Sekiguchi Toa Vintage Kokeshi Doll (25cm/9.8 inches)

This beautiful Japanese creative kokeshi in peach color with red decorations was made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toa (1942-). He was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken, and still lives and works there with his family, all of whom also create creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the Ministry of International Trade Industry Award in 1978. Since then he has won the Prime Minister’s Award, along with other respected awards.
