Yuko Yamazaki Creative Kokeshi Doll – Osumashi (15cm/5.9 inches)

This creative kokeshi doll was made and signed by Yuko Yamazaki (1956-). Her title is おすまし (Osumashi) which means “Elegant” or even “Posh”. She’s wearing a very elegant dark kimono with various flower decorations in red, white and yellow. She has and adorable hair ornament with a dotted kanoko pattern and a natural wooden colored kimono belt tied on the back (obi).

Yuko Yamazaki was born in 1956 and learned the art of kokeshi dolls from master Yoshida Takashi. She has won many prizes for her unique and beautiful kokeshi dolls and also taught the art of kokeshi making to active artists.

In mint condition. Comes with the original box.
