Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Sekiguchi Toshio – Child (19cm/7.5 inches)

This exclusive colorful vintage creative kokeshi doll made and signed by master Sekiguchi Toshio (1947-). She’s titled 童 (Warabe) which means “Child”. Her kimono is stunningly decorated with carved flowers in shades of brown and dark red. This doll is a prime example of Sekiguchi Toshio’s carving skill and mastery.

Master Sekiguchi Toshio was born in Shibukawa City, Gunma-ken, and still lives and works there, all of whom also create creative Kokeshi dolls. He won many awards including the new comer award at the young age of 15.

In great condition with minor marks of age and use. Comes with the original box and wooden sign.
