Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Tanaka Harumasa – Peony (30cm/11.8 inches)

This vintage creative Kokeshi doll was made and signed by master Tanaka Harumasa (1916) who was a very influential artists in the beginning of the sousaku (creative) kokeshi movement in the early 1950’s. Harumasa san used a beautiful piece of keyaki (zelkova) wood for this doll which shows in its grain and warm color. Her body is decorated with a big peony flower.

In great condition with minor signs of age and use.
