Vintage Kokeshi Doll by Shido Shozan – Song of the Forest (20cm/7.8 inches)

Vintage creative kokeshi doll by award winning master Shido Shozan (1932-1995). Her title is 森の唄 (Mori no uta) which means “Song of the Forest”.

Master Shido Shozan was born in Oita prefecture in 1932. He’s known for his delicate and subtle designs which emphasize the wood tone and grain. His dolls often have a simple facial features and his dolls are very popular and sought after among collectors. He has won many awards as well as the most prestigious prime minister award.

In great condition with minor signs of age and use. Comes in the original box and with the original wooden sign.
